The Block NZ: Girls vs Boys Final a Huge
Ratings Success
Last night’s nail-biting The Block NZ: Girls vs Boys season finale saw TV3 win Sunday night across all four key demographics (18-39, 18-49, 25-54 and Household Shoppers with Kids 0-14), with a 13 rating and 37.4 share in TV3’s key target demographic of 25-54. The episode also built from last year’s The Block NZ: Villa Wars finale by 1.5 share (from 35.9 to 37.4).
Adding to TV3’s Sunday night success was the Westside Season 2 finale, which won its timeslot across all four key demographics (18-39, 18-49, 25-54 and HHS with kids 0-14), attracting a 7.0 rating and a 21.7 share in the 25-54 demographic.
This weekend also saw TV3 enjoy another successful Friday night of comedy, with local favourites 7 Days and Fail Army winning their timeslots across all four key demos (18-39, 18-49, 25-54 and HHS with kids 0-14). 7 Days achieved a 7.8 rating 29.1 share, and Fail Army a 4.2 rating 17.6 share (both in the 25-54 demographics).
Earlier in the week proved equally as successful for TV3, with Thursday night’s return of the hit local series Lost and Found winning its key target demographic of 25-54, with a 6.0 rating 19.6 share. While the US action drama Hawaii Five-0 continued its great performance on Wednesday night with a win in the 25-54 demographic, attracting a 4.1 rating and 19.3% share.
Last night also saw The Block NZ’s Mark Richardson and host of Grand Designs NZ, Chris Moller, tease the return of Grand Designs Season 2 with a “mash-up” promo which screened during The Block NZ’s Live Auction. While Kiwis eagerly await the return of the local version of the popular UK format, Grand Designs NZ Season 1 (which premiered on TV3 in September last year) has recently been sold into six territories including Australia and the UK.
Applications are now open for The Block NZ 2017. Producers are looking for teams of DIY enthusiasts – friends, family members or partners from anywhere in New Zealand who consider themselves energetic, creative, hard working with a sense of humour. Visit www.tv3.co.nz for details.
