BIG RIGS ROLL OUT FOR UNIQUE CRC SPEEDSHOW TRUCK CRUISE
The 2017 CRC Speedshow is going bigger than ever before with its charity cruise events by introducing New Zealand's only truck cruise as a spectacular fund raising initiative for this year's show.
The Rislone Big Rig Truckin For Charity Cruise will begin at 8.30am on Saturday July 22 at the headquarters of engine treatment and fuel additive specialist Rislone and parent company Smits on Greenmount Drive at East Tamaki, taking a scenic route to the CRC Speedshow event at the ASB Showgrounds on Greenlane and raising money for the Starship Foundation through a $50 per truck registration fee. Every cent goes to charity and organisers are hoping - of course - for a BIG turnout!
"Our Meguiar's Car Crazy Charity Cruise has always been successful and well supported and there have been a few suggestions over the years about expanding it to include other types of vehicle," explained CRC Speedshow's Ross Prevette.
"When Rislone jumped in as a sponsor we began talking about a truck cruise and we are delighted to have got there with the first ever big rig cruise at CRC Speedshow. It's something completely new and will add a new dimension for both existing Speedshow fans and truck fans."
"It's a truck only and no trailer event so owners can spruce up their pride and joys as any self-respecting car owner would do for a cruise! We know there are some stunning big rigs out there and we'd love to see them all along to be showcased and appreciated at the same time."
The $50 registration fee includes entry to the Rislone Big Rig Cruise and entry to the CRC Speedshow for the driver and all passengers and those taking part will also receive a Smits Gift Voucher, Rislone goodies and the chance to take out the 'best in show' Show and Shine award. Anyone wishing to take part can do so by registering their truck at www.lovemycarnz.com
CRC Speedshow - the eleventh edition of New Zealand's biggest motoring and automotive event - opens its doors to the public on Saturday July 22 and Sunday July 23 - with the 2017 event promising to be one of the biggest and best so far.
