More than $260,000 raised to support vulnerable families through The Parenting Place
A fundraising initiative between The Warehouse and The Parenting Place has raised more than $260,000 towards parenting courses for vulnerable families across New Zealand.
The funds raised will allow more than a thousand parents to participate in a Parenting Place Toolbox course, designed to equip them with a range of parenting skills, and help build strong family relationships.
Since 19 April, customers of each of the 92 The Warehouse stores nationwide took part in a peel and reveal campaign, with a generous range of family prizes up for grabs.
The Parenting Place CEO Greg Fleming says that a Toolbox parenting course can be life-changing for parents.
“All of us long for meaningful relationships with our kids. It’s a privilege to walk alongside mums and dads during our six-week Toolbox courses – especially those facing very complex challenges – to help them achieve their aspirations for their whānau,” says Mr Fleming.
The Warehouse CEO Pejman Okhovat says the company has partnered with The Parenting Place for four years now, helping thousands of families along the way.
“We’re so pleased with how our customers have supported The Parenting Place campaign through The Great Family Giveaway in stores.
Through this contribution we hope that many more families and young people can benefit from the support of The Parenting Place and continue to build strong family units,” says Mr Ohkovat.
The Parenting Place has been in operation for almost 25 years, enhancing the lives of families and young people throughout the country through inspirational, accessible programmes and resources, designed for all New Zealanders.
