The Menagerie Variety Show 2018

The Menagerie Variety Show 2018
Saturday 28 July | Opera House, Wellington

Welcome to an evening celebrating the odd, intriguing & strangely compelling.
The Menagerie Variety Show is returning to the Wellington Opera House on Saturday the 28th of July for a whole new one-night-only spectacular of epic proportions.

Spawned from Wellington’s regular variety night, The Menagerie, this is the second annual Variety Show at the Wellington Opera House - aiming to take burlesque, cabaret, circus and more to the masses. “It’s like The Muppets meets The Royal Variety Performance, but fresher, weirder, more risqué and heaps more Kiwi”, says The Menagerie Producer Rachel Rogue.

Our 2018 offering includes a mix of dancers (Bandolier Masters, Les Folies de L’Amour, Mapihi Kelland), singers (Emma Wollum, AJ Te Aho), comedians (Zane & Degg, Alexander Sparrow), a slam poet (Duncan Hope), magician (Mr Lola Illusion), contortionist (Jackson Cordery), burlesque diva (Bonita Danger Doll), drag kings/queens (Hugo Grrrl & Eve Envy), spectacular circus (Imogen Stone, Victor Victorious) and general ner-do-wells (MC Matt Powell, and more) in our line-up of 16 excellent acts and experiences.

“New Zealand has loads of incredible talent, this show brings some the best and most diverse entertainment with 16 acts and over 60 performers coming together for one never-to-be-repeated, and never-to-be-forgotten night.” says Rouge.
