Ratings Success Continues with the Block NZ And Westside*,
the Rock Rebrands, the Edge’s Dom Harvey to Run for a Good Cause


Three’s reality juggernaut The Block NZ is continuing to bask in a wave of successful ratings with last night’s kids’ room reveal hitting a 29.0% audience share and 9.8 rating point in the commercially important 25-54 demographic. This follows a stellar week for The Block NZ which also saw the show win its timeslot on Tuesday evening (28.6% share and 8.3 rating) and Wednesday evening (25.0% share and 7.1 rating) amongst 25-54s.


Tune in tonight as the winner of this year’s Dinner Wars is revealed, and find out what causes Ben to be taken off site after an accident. Later this week, be prepared for a site shutdown and Block-blockage that leaves one team hiding their faces with embarrassment. Plus, The Block NZ’s People’s Choice Award is back and voting is now open. The favourite team of the series will win a Suzuki S-Cross Prestige and everyone who votes will go in the draw for awesome weekly prizes and one grand prize which includes VIP tickets to the The Block NZ Live Auction.


Local hit Westside*, which has been confirmed for a fifth season, proves itself as New Zealand’s leading local drama, winning its timeslot yet again with a 24.2% share and 6.0 rating amongst 25-54s on Monday night. Tuesday night saw the premiere of new drama Valor win its timeslot with a 15.1% share and 2.8 rating while Friday also had success with timeslot wins from The Graham Norton Show (26.2% share and 6.6 rating) and 7 Days* (24.6% share and 5.5 rating).

In radio, The Rock have rolled out a new station logo and marketing campaign, the first visual rebrand in the station’s 27-year history. The Rock’s Content Director Brad King says, “After 27 years, we feel that as the rest of the station has naturally progressed with the times, so should the logo.”


Alongside the launch of the new logo is the return of the Rock 1500 countdown and a new “Rock is Our Religion” campaign which kicks off this week. The Rock is New Zealand’s number one station in its target demographic and for all people aged 25-44**.


George FM's very own music and lifestyle awards, The Georgies, are back for 2018 and will again be presented by Jägermeister. The winners will be voted by George FM listeners, so nominate here and be in the draw to win.


The Edge Breakfast’s Dom Harvey announced this morning that he will be running five marathons in five days to raise money for three-year-old Ka’iulani Forbes who is struggling with a rare form of cancer called Neuroblastoma. On Friday, Dom, Meg and Randell met the Forbes family and found out that none of Ka’iulani’s treatment is covered in New Zealand, so their only option is receive treatment overseas - which will cost them over $260,000. In the weekend, Dom came up with the idea to run five marathons in five days as a way to help raise money for the special little girl. Find out more about the cause here.


Finally, the newest season of global phenomenon America’s Got Talent premieres this Sunday at 7pm on Three, hosted by supermodel Tyra Banks and with judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel.
