Could you be our national quiz champion?

The Association for Women in the Sciences (AWIS) is challenging quiz teams across New Zealand to compete for one illustrious title – the AWIS National Quiz Champion.

AWIS is holding simultaneous quiz nights at five venues nationwide on 11 October. Each venue will have the same quiz and, across the country, 130 teams will be competing for the title.

All profit from the AWIS National Quiz will go towards the Women in STEM Scholarship, an annual award for women studying for a qualification in Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM), particularly those whose social identity is under-represented in their field of study.

Quizzers will also be able to support fundraising efforts by buying raffle tickets or bidding on items at the silent auctions at each venue. A national auction will also be taking place on Trademe, with unique items on offer for the highest bidder such as a private Kitchen Science Cooking lesson with Dr Michelle Dickinson, taking part on a microbiology investigation with Dr Siouxsie Wiles, and a private tour of New Zealand’s largest research vessel, NIWA’s RV Tangaroa.

Tickets for the Quiz are available through eventfinda.co.nz – with limited space at each venue, make sure your quiz team is registered to get the chance to compete.

Tickets are available from https://www.eventfinda.co.nz/tour/2018/awis-national-quiz-2018.
