NZ band Metaract announce Skid Row support
Auckland metal band Metaract is
thrilled to support multi-platinum selling US hard rockers
Skid Row for one show only in New Zealand
on 25 October 2018, at The Studio, Auckland.
The
show comes hot on the heels of Metaract’s
latest single, ‘Never Forget’, which has been
gaining attention and radio play nationwide.
Metaract is known for delivering a
breathtaking, high energy live show and anticipation is
building for this event for several reasons.
“Skid Row has been a big
influence for all of us, and getting to share the stage with
your rock ‘n’ roll heroes is amazing,” says
Metaract vocalist Chris Yong.
It
will also be the first time Kiwi fans get to see former
Dragonforce singer ZP Theart front Skid
Row, alongside guitarists Snake Sabo and
Scotti Hill, bassist Rachel Bolan and drummer Rob
Hammersmith. The New Jersey hard rockers formed in 1987,
and went stratospheric with their debut album ‘Skid
Row’, which included mega-hits ‘18 and
Life’, ‘Youth Gone Wild’, and ‘I
Remember You’.
The one-off Auckland concert
is part of the Australasian leg of Skid Row’s
United World Rebellion 2018 tour. Completing the
show’s support lineup alongside Metaract,
is Auckland rock band Silence The
City, who released their debut album
‘Resilience’ last
year.
Metaract fuses multiple
styles from hard rock to thrash metal, with familiar faces
from the kiwi rock/metal scene. Along with Chris Yong
(Tadpole, Redline, Static Era), the band is rounded out by
guitarist Sharne Scarborough (Just One Fix), bassist Victor
Pesch (Static Era), and drummer Clayton Gould (Molotov,
State of It).
Carving out their own unique path
while paying tribute to all eras of metal, Metaract’s
sound is as heavy as it is catchy. “We’re a fusion of
all the best parts of our favourite bands.”
Metaract’s ferocious, high energy live
show keeps both the band and the crowd on their toes with
dual shred fests, stomping bass, double kicks and goofball
smiles.
