Nadia Lim launches sequel to cookbook

FRESH START, FEEL GOOD!
Nadia Lim launches sequel to best-selling, life-changing cookbook

Fans of Nadia Lim’s phenomenally successful Fresh Start cookbook, rejoice!

The celebrity chef, qualified dietitian and My Food Bag co-founder is back with the My Food Bag team to create Fresh Start, Feel Good!, a new cookbook packed with more recipes that follow her no-fuss, fad-free approach to kickstarting health goals and losing weight .

Much like the first book and the popular My Food Bag meal kit delivery service also called Fresh Start, Fresh Start, Feel Good!’s recipes are all under 450 calories and focus on packing in vegetables and other nourishing ingredients, while cutting down on carbs and refined sugar, without losing the flavour.

The recipes include delicious breakfasts, smoothies, salads, soups and quick dinners, as well as lighter, healthier twists on comfort foods like pizza and burgers. New for this cookbook, sweet treats without the guilt, such as Frozen Berry Ripple Cake and Chocolate Coconut Rough Cookies also feature.

Lim, who already has eight best-selling cookbooks under her belt, says while the new book helps people kickstart their health goals and lose weight if they want to, Fresh Start, Feel Good! isn’t a diet book.

“I don’t believe in inflexible diet rules, fads or cutting out any specific foods, because it’s simply not a sustainable – or enjoyable – approach to eating,” she says.

“Just like the first Fresh Start cookbook and our Fresh Start meal kit delivery service, you can expect realistic, down-to-earth recommendations and advice here, alongside delicious, simple recipes that use normal, everyday ingredients.”

With all the recipes 450 calories or less, people can choose any three meals (and snacks) from the new book to fit into an approximate 1,200-1,600 calorie-per-day eating plan, which Lim, a trained dietitian, says is about right for most people wanting to lose weight.

Lim says she’s proud of the success thousands of Kiwis have already had in achieving their wellness goals on the Fresh Start journey.

“I’m so pleased the first book was able to help so many people lose weight and feel healthier,” she says. “And I’m delighted Fresh Start, Feel Good! will be able to provide them with some new – and tasty! – recipe inspiration to keep those goals on track.”

The new cookbook is also an extension of My Food Bag’s Fresh Start with Nadia meal kit service which delivers simple, healthy and delicious ingredients and recipes that are perfectly portioned and 450 calories or less to help with weight management or weight loss. With average results of losing 6.5kg in twelve weeks, this is a weight loss option that not only works but is also sustainable.

Fresh Start customer, Michelle, states “20 kg donated back to the universe so far that I don't need to lug around. Thank you, Nadia, and Fresh Start for making it less painful and somewhat enjoyable whipping up your amazing recipes” Her experience is echoed by customer Bernadette, who says “I’ve been on the Fresh Start meals since they started, and I’ve lost 12 kilos. My husband had no idea we were eating fewer calories and is still quite bemused by the 4 kilos that have mysteriously disappeared off his waistline.”

Since the launch of that service in 2017, it’s helped thousands of customers lose significant amounts of weight, increase energy levels, manage diabetes and lower blood pressure. Lim says “It’s been truly amazing and such a privilege to be part of something that’s changed so many people’s lives for the better”.

Fresh Start, Feel Good! is available at all good book stores nationwide from Friday, 5 October 2018. RRP $49.99.
