Wellington Fringe Festival 2019 will be a RIOT!

Today celebrates the 29th launch of Wellington's Fringe Festival programme. In 2019 we’re excited to play host to a league of incoming and upcoming talents, while paying homage to scores of established artists, not only from here in Aotearoa, but from around the World. All bringing us exciting new works from all artistic expressions and mediums including Comedy, Theatre, Music, and Visual Arts.

We just don’t know if Wellington is ready for the 2019 punch packed programme!Rest assured, while the programme may well be yellow, it’s by no means for the faint hearted, with scores of fantastic arts action and including Wellington's first every appearance of international political upstarts and trailblazers Pussy Riot.

PUSSY RIOT: RIOT DAYS ARE COMING TO NZ FRINGE

Pussy Riot have one of the most important voices of the last 10 years. Gaining worldwide notoriety in 2012 after being imprisoned for 'hooliganism motivated by religious hatred’ for their performance inside a Moscow church. They are the epitome of modern protest music, brash, unrelenting and challenging. Featuring three key members, the iconic feminist punk rock performance band play Wellington for one night only. Riot Days is their story, presented in a truly iconic and unimitable way. Riot Days is a gig, Riot Days is a show, Riot Days is an experience.
