Friday 25 January, 2019- The 2019 edition of the North West Wine, Beer & Food Festival has sold out. Held in the stunning surrounds of The Hunting Lodge on 9 February, the festival will feature a brilliant line-up of live music by Gin Wigmore, Tami Neilson andJed Parsons, and delicious food and drink from the best North West restaurants, wineries and breweries.

For the second year in a row, a special edition beer has been created for the festival by Colab Brewing, Hallertau Brewery and Liberty Brewing Company. This year’s beer is the Strawberry Sass,a strawberry infused wheat beer, inspired by North West local and festival performer Tami Neilson’s outstanding albumSassafrass.

The brewers say that the Strawberry Sass is a traditionally brewed German style wheat beer, unfiltered using wheat and pilsner malt, hints of banana, subtle clove aroma and infused with 20kg of strawberries.

The event features food and beverage offerings from wineries Coopers Creek, The Hunting Lodge, Kumeu River, Soljans Estate Winery & West Brook Winery, and breweries Hallertau Brewery, Colab Brewing & Liberty Brewing Company, and bespoke dishes from food vendors including The Riverhead & The Tasting Shed.

North West Country Manager Phelan Pirrie says that the festival is a brilliant showcase of the region as a destination for foodies, and he’s delighted to see it sell out.

“This is the third year we’ve presented the North West Wine, Beer & Food Festival at The Hunting Lodge and it’s great to see the interest and support from people in the Auckland region growing each year. We’re looking forward to another awesome event in a couple of weeks time.”

Festival details

The festival will again feature a kids zone, making it a truly family friendly event. Children under 15 are FREE when pre-registered with a parent or legal guardian.

Return bus tickets are available from Auckland City, Muriwai, Helensville, Kumeu & Riverhead.. Free parking will also be available on the day.
