Brian Mills appointed to ARL Board
The Auckland Rugby League has today confirmed Brian
Mills has been appointed to the Board as an independent
director.
The announcement was made at the ARL's 109th annual general meeting and comes almost 12 months to the day after Mills was awarded life membership to the ARL.
Now entering his 30th year of service to the organisation, Mills started out as the ARL's general manager in 1989, and among other roles held during that time has been the organisation's long-standing accountant.
In addition to his work at a grassroots level in Auckland, Mills has held roles at the New Zealand Warriors and New Zealand Rugby League.
Mills said that vast experience in the game put him a good position to contribute as a director.
"I'm at a stage in my life where I've been involved in almost every role in rugby league, from a player and coach through to administration, and I think I'm in a good place to give something back via this role now," Mills said.
"I believe I can add something and assist both the board and the CEO in their goals for the game in Auckland."
The announcement follows Shane Price being elected as the new chairperson of the Board last month.
