Westport Gets The Laughs, With NZ’s Top Comedians Heading To Town

The iconic 2 hour comedy line-up showcase Saturday Laughs, which has been taking Aotearoa’s best comedians to the regions, is now set to hit Westport, bringing plenty of laughs to the NBS Theatre on 27 August.

The night will be MC’d by the comedic superstar that is Jeremy Elwood. With over 20 years in the business, Jeremy is best known as a regular panellist on TV3's 7 Days and Radio New Zealand's The Panel. Having headlined shows around the world, he continues to question our society and turn it into comedy.

The night will be headlined by a Kiwi comedy legend, Paul Ego. From hosting the popular Morning Rumble radio show on The Rock to spending many years behind the desk on 7 Days, he’s also a regular on Have You Been Paying Attention? and is easily one of the country’s most in demand comedians.

Alongside them are two Wellington based comedians, Sowmya Hiremath and Gabby Anderson to round up the lineup. Sowmya was voted Best Female Comedian at the 2020 Cartel Comedy Awards while Gabby’s already won the National Raw Comedy Quest in 2018 and been nominated for the prestigious Billy T Award. These refreshingly relatable comedians will have audiences falling off their seats with laughter.

This event has been made possible with support of the Buller District Council Creative Communities Scheme.
