Sharyn & Jayden To Host Inaugural Panhead Rolling Stone NZ Awards, Six60 To Headline Breathtaking Live Music Lineup
Thursday, August 4, 2022 - Rolling Stone New Zealand has unveiled the hosts and performers for its first annual Panhead Rolling Stone New Zealand Awards, a celebration of Aotearoa music. The awards will take place at Glasshouse in Auckland on August 31, and follows the expansion of the iconic music and pop culture masthead which launched locally in March.
Following the announcement of nominees last month — which included Lorde, BENEE, Six60, L.A.B, Crowded House, BROODS, and more — Rolling Stone New Zealand is excited to announce The Edge afternoon duo Sharyn & Jayden as the ceremony’s official hosts. The pair will also broadcast their show live from the venue, giving listeners an exclusive backstage pass.
Sharyn Casey said: “I can’t believe that our names and Rolling Stone are in the same sentence, hosting the first ever Rolling Stone New Zealand Awards is such an honour and we can’t wait for what will be an iconic night!”
Jayden King said: “I am beyond excited for the Rolling Stone New Zealand Awards! Combining all of my favourite things; music, good times, celebrating excellence - all with Rolling Stone! What an honour, I can’t wait!”
The live music lineup to perform at the awards show later this month includes Rob Ruha & Ka Hao (Nominated for Best Single), Stan Walker & Hamo Dell (Walker is nominated for Best Record), and Six60 (Nominated for Best Single and the Rolling Stone Global Award).
The Brag Media Editor in Chief, Poppy Reid, said: "Our inaugural Rolling Stone New Zealand Awards in Aotearoa is set to be everything we intended it to be from the outset; a celebration of Kiwi music and the industry's incredible resilience and global presence.
“The outstanding performance lineup of Rob Ruha & Ka Hao, Stan Walker & Hamo Dell, and Six60 makes the Awards one of the hottest tickets in town. And with the event being held on the final day of Te Marama Pūoru Waiata Māori - Maori Music Month, this celebration of some of Aotearoa's biggest and best music talent is something we are immensely proud of."
The next issue of Rolling Stone New Zealand arrives on newsstands September 5 with The Wiggles on the cover, and includes a feature on the Awards nominees. Also appearing in the next issue are interviews with musicians Ben Lee, Eddie Benjamin and Teeks, plus Twitch streamer Whippy, and features on the climate crisis, niche influencers and much more.
