Taikura Kapa Haka 2024 – On Māori+

Over the two days of Matariki weekend, more than 700 kaumātua from around the motu gathered at Te Papa Tongarewa in Te Whanganui-a-Tara in a celebration of kapa haka.

Taikura Kapa Haka is an annual festival that has been bringing together kaumātua teams from across the motu for 15 years. We were amazed by the elite of kapa haka at Te Matatini regionals. Whānau loved watching the stars of tomorrow performing in Ngā Kapa Haka Kura Tuarua o Aotearoa. Now you can watch our kuia and koroua performing in their own kapa haka, too.

Whakaata Māori – the Home of Haka brings you Taikura Kapa Haka on Māori+.
