Partnership With Wanganui Students
UCOL Student Association Looks Forward To Partnership With Wanganui Students
The announcement that the Universal College of Learning (UCOL) will provide public tertiary education in Wanganui has been endorsed by the UCOL Students' Association (UCOLSA) as a positive step forward.
"It has been a long and difficult road for the Wanganui community and students," stated UCOLSA President Damian Peeti, "but it appears the right decision has been made. My association is very positive about working as equal partners with WRCPSA."
In it's submission, UCOLSA argued that the Wanganui Regional Community Polytechnic Students' Association (WRCPSA) had the right to represent Wanganui students on UCOL's council. "Now that this representation has been confirmed, students will enjoy the benefits of an enhanced student voice on UCOL's council," stated Peeti.
The focus now for UCOLSA and WRCPSA is to build on one another's strengths and to ensure that all students' rights to the highest quality education are protected.
