New Education Body Shows Promise
12 June 2002
The composition of the Tertiary Education Commission shows promise of having an understanding of the needs of industry and business, says Business NZ.
Chief Executive Simon Carlaw says the Commission should be in a position to at last build strong links with key stakeholders across business and industry, employers and employees.
"The new members of the Commission have a good range of skills and experience across business and post-compulsory education and training, which will be needed to help lift the skills and capabilities of our population and workforce to get the growth New Zealand needs to meet our social, health and other goals," Mr Carlaw said.
