Overwhelming Support for Pettett

Overwhelming Support for Pettett

Members of the Aotearoa Tertiary Students Association (ATSA) overwhelmingly voted for incumbent National President, Julie Pettett to continue to lead ATSA for the next two years. The election was held at ATSA’s second national conference at Massey Wellington and is the first time that it has been for a two year term. It is also the first time that a president has been so convincingly elected.

“ATSA members are one hundred percent behind Julie and her proactive style of leadership,” said Des Warahi, National Vice President. “Julie has been central to driving ATSA forward in her first year as President and we are confident that Julie will continue this momentum over the next two years.”

“I am pleased to have such a strong mandate to continue as President,” said Pettett. “Being ATSA President is not just a job it is a commitment, one that I am pleased to have the opportunity to continue.”

“ATSA is dedicated to supporting students at every level, I am proud to lead an organisation that has the commitment and conviction that our members display,” says Pettett. “I believe ATSA will continue to deliver strong representation, quality training and research if we build on our current strengths and continue to be responsive to our members needs,”
