Nursing Student Takes Away Semesters Worth Of Pizza
Hut
Matt Dowling won today's Pizza Hut Scarfie Triathlon organised by the Otago Polytechnic Students' Association as part of their StudentCard Orientation 2003.
While it might be a few days until Matt recovers enough to eat Pizza Hut, he was delighted to take away the semesters worth of Pizza Hut taking two attempts to get the record time in today's triathlon. Matt, a twenty year-old nursing student at the Otago Polytechnic, has also done well in other StudentCard Orientation competitions, winning a place in the eating competition grand final next Monday.
Contestants had the arduous task of eating a pie, quickly followed by a beer - and then sorting through a pile of rubbish. Why sort rubbish as part of a Scarfie triathlon?
On the 4th of March students will have the option of kerb-side recycling. An essential part of kerb-side recycling is being able to correctly sort out what is recyclable rubbish and what is not. Not only is recycling good for the environment, but later in the year when user-pays rubbish collection starts students will soon have to learn how to use their kerb-side recycling bins to save on rubbish disposal costs..
The last of the StudentCard Orientation competitions will be the Grand Final of the Burger King Eating Competition on Monday 24 Feb. OPSA's StudentCard Orientation also includes other free entry events including performers Monkey Knife Fight, Luke Hurley, Francissca Griffin, The Patsies, Galu Pasifika, MP Metiria Turei, and $4 jugs on Fridays...
