Auck. Life Donates 60 Hours of Principal Coaching

15 March 2004

MEDIA RELEASE

Auckland Life Coaches Donate 60 Hours of Coaching to School Principals

Twenty Principals from Auckland primary and intermediate schools will receive up to three hours each of individual life coaching to highlight Coaching Week (March 15th to 19th).

Life Coaches from the Auckland chapter of the International Coach Federation are donating their time to help educate the public about the increasing popularity and professionalism of the coaching industry.

The Principal’s Association will select the 20 Principals to receive the offer of free professional coaching sessions to focus on career and personal development.

Life coach and spokesperson for the Auckland chapter of the International Coach Federation, Linda Matuschka, says, “This is a wonderful opportunity for the selected school principals to take time away from their daily responsibilities to focus on issues such as personal development, goal setting and time management. We will also ask the Principals to evaluate the experience.”

“Principals are effectively the CEOs of their schools and they fit the general profile of people who seek out coaching - well educated, high achieving, professionals.

“Coaching clients are generally seeking a sounding board, motivator or mentor to help them achieve even more in their professional lives, while also wanting a better balance between their business and personal lives.”

Coach Week is backed by the International Coach Federation and is aimed at building, supporting and promoting professional coaching.

In Auckland, the International Coach Federation is also launching its inaugural newsletter and hosting a networking evening for professional coaches.
