Rotorua, an ideal venue

The forth coming Màori Tertiary Students Conference - Te Hui Tauira, is being hosted by the Waiariki Institute of Technology Students Association (WITSA) in conjunction with the Aotearoa Tertiary Students Association (ATSA) and Te Roopu Tautoko - the Màori Advisory Committee within ATSA.

Te Hui Tauira, "Strengthening Stakeholder Relationships in Tertiary Education - Tauira Perspective", runs 8th- 11th of July 2004.

"Rotorua is an ideal place to be holding such a hui, given that the Bay of Plenty has such a high proportion of Màori tertiary students studying in the region" says Kyle Pohe the Upoko of Te Roopu Tautoko. "The fact that the Waiariki Institute of Technology is one of the most popular institutions in its sector for Màori students reinforces Rotorua as an excellent venue for the hui"

"I look forward to meeting with students from all over Aotearoa, discussing issues that we have in tertiary education and working through the steps we as a whole can take to overcome those issues" concludes Pohe.
