‘New Website showcases New Zealand education’
http://www.newzealandeducated.com is a fantastic tool that lifts New Zealand to the forefront in showcasing itself online to prospective students’ says Robert Stevens, Chief Executive of Education New Zealand. ‘In the dynamic and competitive world of international education, we have to play every possible card to get onto students radar. This new revamped site builds on the excellent work achieved by the old site, whilst providing more information, more features and more value to users’.
The new website was launched today in Parliaments Grand Hall by the Hon. Trevor Mallard before an audience of stakeholders, institutional representatives and members of the diplomatic community. The new site supersedes the old mynzed.com site that has been in operation for the past four years. ‘But it’s not all about electronic glitz for the sake of it. Prospective students are making judgements between New Zealand and competing countries right from the start – and the electronic impression we make is a critical first interface’.
The website has been a valuable and well used portal for overseas students. ‘The site has had more hits than Motown’ says Rob Stevens. ‘Since the original site went live, it has had over 31 million hits. In the last month alone, 45,000 visitors opened 1.2million pages of the base site, and a high percentage went on to the sites of the 250 plus participating institutions’.
‘This website is an
excellent example of cooperation between industry and
Government’ says Rob Stevens. ‘Whilst is just one of a wide
range of tools that Education New Zealand, institutions and
the range of Government stakeholders use to position New
Zealand as destination of choice, it is a showcase we can be
proud
of’
