The Industry Training Federation is proud to announce a first class range of speakers at its 2006 Conference: Developing People.

The Conference on July 27 and 28 will provide an opportunity to consider how people acquire skills for industry, how learning needs differ between groups, and the changing nature of the workplace. These all have important implications for how future industry skill needs will be met.

Speakers include:

* Hon Dr Michael Cullen, Minister for Tertiary Education
* Peter Sheahan, author Generation Y: Thriving (and Surviving) with Generation Y at Work
* Clive Chappell, Associate Dean Research & Development in the Faculty of Education, University of Technology Sydney
* Janice Shiner, Chief Executive Tertiary Education Commission
* David Skilling, Chief Executive New Zealand Institute
* Hon Bill English, National Party Education Spokesperson
* Ross Wilson, President New Zealand Council of Trade Unions
* Phil O'Reilly, Chief Executive Business New Zealand.

Sean Plunkett, of Radio New Zealand's Morning Report, will host a critical keynote panel on meeting skill needs in 10 years time. Mayors from the Mayors Taskforce for Jobs will discuss their regional responses to skill issues.

Other workshops include employers, Industry Training Organisations, literacy experts, polytechnic and private providers, and government agencies.
