NZSTA looks forward to constructive relationship with new Education Minister

The New Zealand Trustees Association congratulates Anne Tolley on her appointment as the new Minister of Education, along with Heather Roy and Dr Pita Sharples in their associate roles.

And President Lorraine Kerr says the organisation is looking forward to a strong working relationship with the new Minister and her Associates to help further build on New Zealand’s strong education system.

Lorraine Kerr says as a national organisation representing the interests of school boards of trustees, NZSTA maintains contact with key people across the political spectrum. This has included regular meetings with Anne Tolley in her then education spokesperson role for the National Party.

“We have valued our relationship with Anne during those times, and we are certainly looking forward to growing that relationship even further in her new role as Minister of Education.”

Ms Kerr says while NZ has a very good education system by world standards, there are areas that require improvement

“NZSTA will be looking forward to working with the new Minister, and government, to make a good system great”, she says.
