Big toe in the world design pool

Big toe in the world design pool

Third year Design student Josh Wallace will return from Melbourne later this week fresh from the world’s largest student design conference.

Josh was chosen to represent UCOL’s Whanganui School of Design at the AGIdeas event as a member of the International Student Committee.

Held annually, AGIdeas is a huge international design forum aimed at designers who are seeking information and inspiration. “The fact that AGIdeas selected us as one of their choices for a top design school is wicked,” said Josh.

Before his departure an excited Josh said he expected to be “seriously humbled on the trip”. But at the same time he was keen to see what is influencing designers across the globe.

Equally enthusiastic about his fellow students, Josh says he has seen first-hand that the Whanganui School of Design is full of very talented designers that he is sure will “rock the globe” once they graduate.

On completion of his Bachelor of Computer Graphic Design, Josh plans to work overseas and gain valuable experience before returning to New Zealand to start up his own design studio.

Josh returns to New Zealand on Saturday.
