AUCKLAND, New Zealand – 5 August, 2009 – Microsoft today released a special offer for New Zealand tertiary students providing Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007 as an $80 download, representing a 94 per cent discount (based on Recommended Retail Prices).

Dubbed ‘The Ultimate Steal,’ the license deal is available to students currently enrolled at eligible New Zealand tertiary institutions as part of Microsoft New Zealand’s ongoing commitment to education.

Office Ultimate 2007 is a premium Office suite, allowing students to create high-quality documents, gather and consolidate lecture notes and other information, stay organised, build databases, and easily collaborate with other students and their lecturers across geographical boundaries. The suite includes the 2007 editions of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Groove, Publisher, Access and InfoPath.

Microsoft New Zealand Public Sector Director Chris Brice says the offer is one that meets the three primary needs to students: price, usability and compatibility.

Students can download the software from http://www.TheUltimateSteal.co.nz by providing their tertiary email address. Backup media of Office Ultimate on DVD is available by mail for an additional $25.

This is the first time the Ultimate Steal programme has been available in New Zealand, following similar programmes launched in other countries including the United States and Australia. The ‘Ultimate Steal’ offer will be available in New Zealand until August 2010.
