Ambitions open for lunch

Ambitions open for lunch

UCOL’s training restaurant Ambitions has once again opened its doors to Palmerston North’s dining public.

The restaurant is open for lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 20 – 29 April.

Prepared by the Certificate in Professional Cookery students, the lunch menu includes such tempting dishes as the Kikorangi Cheese and Onion Jam Tart, Crispy Corn and Feta Fritters and Beer Battered Fish.

Certificate in Hospitality students, who are responsible for the Front of House duties, will provide the food and drinks service to diners.

The Cookery students have been applying their newly acquired culinary skills to the dishes on the lunch menu during their first few months of study.

“This is the students’ first taste of the real world of restaurant service,” says Donna Meehan from UCOL’s School of Tourism, Hospitality & Continuing Education.
“They are very enthusiastic and excited at the prospect of cooking for, and serving the public.”
