Whitireia Enrolment numbers up

Whitireia Enrolment numbers up

Whitireia are experiencing significant enrolment pressures for their 2011 programmes.

Since November last year our Bachelor of Nursing, Paramedic and Early Childhood degree programmes have been full and with unprecedented waitlists said Don Campbell, Whitireia CEO. “Our enrolments are up 13% this year, compared to the same time last year” he said.

2010 was a record year for Whitireia in terms of its enrolment numbers. Domestic enrolments in 2010 had to be curtailed from July on, in order to meet the Tertiary Education Commission imposed cap.

There are still places available on some programmes at Whitireia which historically have filled later in January and early February. Programmes with mid-year intakes still have some places available as well. Mr Campbell said. “We have clear message for people who are still interested in studying at Whitireia this year, places will go quickly so enrolments do need to be received as soon as possible, and competition is strong for the remaining places” he said.

If you are interested in studying at Whitiriea in 2011, check out www.whitireia.ac.nz for more information or call 0800 944 847 to see which programmes still have places available.
