Celebrating success

Celebrating success

On 29 July a graduation ceremony will take place at the Elim Christian Centre, Porirua. The ceremony at 4pm will see students from diploma and certificate programmes from the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Business, Faculty of Service Industries and Faculty of Trades graduating from their programme of study and having the opportunity to celebrate their success.

The ceremony is very much a community event that will see a number of families and friends attend in support of the students. The guest speaker at this graduation ceremony will be local business owner, Sheryl Collins.

Whitireia are proud of every student graduating. We seek to provide our students with a solid foundation on which to build their careers in the profession and industries they have chosen and to foster an interest in life-long learning said Don Campbell, Chief Executive, Whitireia New Zealand.

This graduation ceremony is a highlight of our academic calendar said Mr Campbell. “They are a celebration of the success of our students and it’s important that we recognise this and celebrate and honour the achievements of each and every one of them”.

The graduation ceremony is a very important part of the celebrations for Whitireia this year. 2011 marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Whitireia as a tertiary education provider and 25 years of quality graduates and commitment to tertiary education for the communities in which Whitireia are established.

In excess of 700 people will take part in the celebrations on Friday, over 270 of these being graduating students.
