2012 Microsoft New Zealand Imagine Cup

2012 Microsoft New Zealand Imagine Cup

Tasking university students with solving a world problem seems like a big ask, but not for the final 19 teams participating in the 2012 Microsoft New Zealand Imagine Cup.

More than 400 teams, from universities around New Zealand, entered this year’s competition and were whittled down to the top nineteen. These 19 teams have been working tirelessly over the summer break to further develop their projects – technology solutions to solve a global issue.

The New Zealand winners will have the opportunity to compete in the worldwide finals in Australia in July.

We will be co-ordinating interviews with all top 19 teams, Microsoft spokespeople and a range of well-known judges on request.

The showcase of all of the Top 19 projects kicks off from 4.30pm in the Town Hall, followed by the finals and award ceremony at 7pm.

Make sure you put a note in your calendar – this is a day you don’t want to miss!

Location: Auckland Town Hall,
380 Queen Street, Auckland
Date: Monday 30 April, 2011
Time: Showcase from 4.30pm; Finals and award ceremony at 7pm
