Ako awards showcase world class tertiary education system

TEU congratulates the 12 recipients of Ako Aotearoa Tertiary Teaching Excellence Awards, many of whom are TEU members.

The Tertiary Teaching Excellence Awards celebrate New Zealand’s finest tertiary teachers and highlight the outstanding quality of tertiary education that students across New Zealand receive.

"We are pleased to see the judges commenting upon the record number of nominations and the high standard of entry this year," said TEU national president Sandra Grey.

"It is particularly exciting to see the Restaurant, Wine and Bar Team from the School of Food and Hospitality at Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology win an award. Teaching and knowledge generation benefit from strong collegial interaction, so to see a group of colleagues working so well together for their students exemplifies New Zealand's world-class tertiary education system.”

"Despite all the pressures on tertiary education today teams of good people are making great things happen for students that they really care about."
