Gifted Kids proud to support alumni student
Gifted Kids is delighted to support alumni student Hana Olds in the release of her first book.
“It is great to be able to share this event with Hana. She is such a talented individual with an incredible amount of emotional intelligence” says Gifted Kids CEO Deb Clark.
With the release of her book at the age of 12, Hana Olds is a prime illustration of the potential of gifted children when they are given a chance to let their talents grow.
“It is such an honour to see one of our alumni students using their exceptional abilities to make a difference. Hana is truly an inspiration” Ms Clark continues.
Ms Clark, along with Gifted Kids Board Chairperson Dick Fernyhough, will be attending the book release at Wellington High School Library this evening.
The book, If Persistence was a Person: The inspirational Story of Swee Tan, is a biography of Professor Swee Tan and focuses on his cancer research at the Gillies McIndoe Research Institute.
The proceeds from Hana’s book will go towards funding Tan’s cancer research.
After being moved by a documentary about his research, Hana first met Professor Tan at the Gifted Kids Petone unit, where she persuaded him to come and talk to her class.
The book release is taking place tonight, Monday 17 September at the Wellington High School Library at 6pm.
