Gifted Kids Challenge Vertigo: Final Target Met

Gifted Kids and Chairperson, Len Ward, are pleased to announce reaching the main target of their fundraising efforts in Challenge Vertigo: Len’s Launch for Extraordinary Minds.

The fundraising campaign was launched in February with the aim to raise awareness of the challenges of being gifted. The target was exceeded towards the end of March, and is still growing.

“With any fundraising campaign you look closely at the figures every day, some days you are hopeful and others not so much. In the end, I’m glad we made it and a lot more people know more about being gifted and the work we do for some extraordinary kiwi kids”, Ward says.

The fundraiser had four targets set each with a challenge associated with reaching that target. Earlier in March, four students from Gifted Kids Waikowhai joined Len in the first challenge of kayaking up Puhoi River. This event was kindly sponsored by a generous and anonymous donor.

“I am very thankful for all the support I have had through this. Thanks to Gifted Kids staff, individual sponsors, businesses that have supported the venture, and of course our students who are really my inspiration for doing this.” Ward said.

The next challenges are scheduled over the next three weeks.

Gifted Kids was founded in 2000 to meet the educational and social needs of gifted children in New Zealand. Gifted Kids delivers services in Northern Wairoa, Auckland, Rotorua, Masterton, Hutt Valley, Wellington, Dunedin, and Invercargill.
