Lunch is on The Palms When the School Bell Rings
The Palms Shopping Centre will be shouting a free lunch to one lucky school at the start of the second school term, as part of a community driven effort to boost the local happiness factor.
The Palms recently asked shoppers on Facebook what they could do to help restore smiles on the faces of the local community. One mother suggested a sponsored lunch at one of the schools, stating, “The way to cheer up the adults is to make their kids happy.” The Palms thought this was a great idea and are excited to launch an appetising competition to deliver a free lunch for each student and teacher at one lucky local school.
Simon Carter, The Palms Shopping Centre Manager says, “It would be an understatement to say that Christchurch children and teachers have had a rough time recently.
“We would like to do what we can to help return a smile to the faces of local children and adults. We received a great suggestion from our Facebook community and have partnered with Subway to bring this idea to life. It’s just a little something we can do to increase the local happiness factor.”
The Palms is inviting the community to nominate their local primary or intermediate school to receive the free lunch. The school that receives the most nominations from students, teachers, parents and friends will receive a 6 inch Subway sandwich, juice box and cookie for each student and teacher during the first week in the second school term.
Nominations can be sent by email to debby.chiplin@ampcapital.com and close on Friday 26 April 2013.
