Time running out to apply for 2015 engineering scholarship

There are just three days left for Eastland region university students to apply for Eastland Group’s annual tertiary study scholarship.

The scholarship offers $5,000 to students studying engineering, and comes with the possibility of paid holiday work with the company.
Group chief executive Matt Todd said details of the scholarship were on the company’s website at www.eastland.co.nz.

“Applicants need to write a 1000 word essay about how winning an Eastland Group scholarship would help them, and what their study and career aspirations are.

“Our aim is to select students studying subjects that complement Eastland Group’s business and operations. Therefore, applicants must be studying civil, mechanical or electrical engineering.”

Aside from their essay, scholarship applicants would be reviewed by Eastland Group in terms of academic achievement, character and potential leadership, potential to contribute to New Zealand’s engineering industry.
The scholarship has been won for the past two years by Sam Godwin, who is studying at the University of Canterbury towards a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) specialising in Civil Engineering.

Essays and application forms should be returned by email to rebecca.barclay@eastland.co.nz or post to Rebecca Barclay, HR Administrator, Eastland Group, PO Box 1048, Gisborne.
