Capital E Digital Studios programme impressive workshops

Capital E Digital Studio’s don’t disappoint these April school holidays with two programmes, for juniors and seniors, sure to invigorate the creative spark in children. In the Capital E MediaLab, children will create their own computer game with Wellington software developers Gamefroot. In the OnTV Studio, children will be at the heart of the Zombie apocalypse in Zombiewatch, a workshop to create a live-recorded news broadcast. From Tuesday 7 – Thursday 16 April, children will explore some of the best of what Capital E Digital has to offer.

Media Lab: Working with Gamefroot’s intuitive web interface, and with help from the actual developers, children ages 8 years and up can build a new world and fill it with characters and interactive objects in a three day workshop. Children will tell a story through their game, make a challenging puzzle, or beat the bad guys! Once they’ve built their masterpiece, they can publish it to the web and share it with the world and test it on a phone or tablet.

Juniors (8 – 10 years): Tuesday 7 – Thursday 9 April, 10.30am – 3pm (3-day workshop)
Seniors (11+ years): Tuesday 14 – Thursday 16 April, 10.30am – 3pm (3 day workshop)
$135 per person at Capital E Central MediaLab

OnTV: In a one day workshop, children will check out the OnTV studio in Zombiewatch. They’ll be part of the crew creating live-recorded television about the apocalypse, perhaps as a reporter, a behind the scenes operator, or even a drooling, brain-hungry member of the undead.
