How to learn? A Discussion on Emerging Curatorial Education

How to learn?
A Discussion on Emerging Curatorial Education in Aotearoa
Saturday 13 May, 2pm

With consideration to the development of postgraduate programmes in art curatorship, increased competition for curatorial internships and a growing number of workshops and intensives on the subject, Enjoy is pleased to present a discussion on current and emerging forms of curatorial education in Aotearoa New Zealand.

This panel between emerging to mid-career practitioners will explore potential pathways and possibilities for those interested in contemporary curatorial practice, as well as offering critical observations of the entry-level field at present. How do forms of learning or ‘training’ in self-directed or independent initiatives differ from internships, paid institutional work and tertiary structures? What’s missing, what’s shifting, and what could the future look like?

Presenters Balamohan Shingade, Tendai John Mutambu, Andrea Bell and Melanie Oliver will reflect on these issues and their own ways of entering the field in a panel discussion chaired by Enjoy’s Curator/Manager Sophie Davis.

Free to attend, all welcome.
