Toastmasters International President Lark Doley to visit NZ

Lark Doley , of Jonestown, Texas, The Toastmasters International President will be helping District 72 celebrate the formation of the new district72, (which incorprates the South Island and greater Wellington area) at the Districts Conference in Mosgiel on the weekend of 10th-12th May.

As a member of the Toastmasters International Board of Directors, Doley is a “working ambassador” for the organization. She works with the Board to develop and support the policies and procedures that guide Toastmasters International in fulfilling its mission.

This is the first time in 6 years that the current Toastmasters International President has visited the district, Doley is not only here to help the District celebrate its formation but to also lift the profile of Toastmasters in the district and will make herself availble for interviews with media organisations.

Doley will be presenting an educational session on Friday 10th May and a keynote speech on Saturday 11th May as well as helping to present awards to Toastmaster members during the conference. Doley will also be attending meet and greets events with Toastmaster members in Wellington on Tuesday 7th of May and Christchurch on Wednesday 8th of May.

Doley graduated with honors from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and German. She continued her education studying business management at St. Edward’s University in Austin, and mathematics at the University of Houston–Clear Lake, in Houston, Texas.

A Toastmaster for 26 years, Doley is a member of two clubs, including her home club in Pflugerville, Texas, the Arthur Storer club that was chartered in honor of her father-in-law after his death in 1997. Doley has held a number of high-profile leadership positions within Toastmasters and has attained the Distinguished Toastmaster designation—the highest level of achievement in the organization.
