Barnardos Collectors Stampede Through NZ
Barnardos is issuing a stampede warning as our 18,000 strong band of collectors hits the streets for the Annual Appeal between the 4th and 10th March.
The collectors have their sights set firmly on the purses and wallets of the nation, and are appealing to you to open them up to help Barnardos stop child abuse.
Lorna Tomes, National Appeals Manager for Barnardos Children’s Trust, says that the collectors are our single biggest asset during the appeal.
“All I can ask is that when you are visited by one of our collectors, please give generously. There’s no romantic way of putting it, we need the money. Without it we can’t get to the children that really need our help, and that would truly be a tragedy.
“Barnardos depends on our volunteers to make our appeal a success. Their hard work allows us to continue to fight for the rights of children and help them to have happy and safe lives.”
“Collectors can be identified by their charming demeanour and official Barnardos Children’s Trust badges. They will be visiting homes the length and breadth of the country during appeal week to give the public a rare chance to actually do something practical to help the nation’s children,” says Lorna.
The annual appeal, supported by Shell, runs between 4th-10th March, please give generously when the collector comes round.
