Leukaemia Appeal Week: New World promotion

WHAT: The Leukaemia and Blood Foundation (LBF) has partnered with leading supermarket chain New World to raise money to support patients and families coping with leukaemia and related blood disorders during the Foundation's Appeal Week (November 11 to 17). For a $2 donation shoppers receive a LBF sticker and an entry into a competition to win a two-minute grocery grab.

WHO: North Island New World shoppers are encouraged to purchase a sticker at check-out. All proceeds go to LBF. www.leukaemia.org.nz

WHY: Each day four children and adults (1400 New Zealanders a year) are diagnosed with leukaemia or a related blood disorder including multiple myeloma and lymphoma. The Leukaemia & Blood Foundation has a vision to cure and a mission to care for people living with these diseases by providing: patient support programmes, education materials and information, acting as patient advocates, funding research, and providing medical equipment and facilities.

WHEN: November 11-17, New World stores in the North Island.
