Announcing NZORD's Conference 2004 - Partnership for Progress Te Papa, Wellington Fri 28 & Sat 29 May
NZORD is pleased to announce its 2nd conference to bring together professionals, families and support group representatives to learn from each other -- to make progress in understanding, treating and controlling the incidence of rare disorders -- sharing knowledge to create "expert patients and families" -- meeting the challenges of biotechnology, genetics and ethics.
Speakers include professionals and family members with experience in research, novel therapies, genetics, biobanking and ethics, and the development of partnerships to accelerate knowledge. Confirmed special guests include Sharon Terry, President of the Genetic Alliance in the USA, and Dr Steven Walkley, Neuroscience Researcher from New York.
Day 1 focuses on leading edge research and translation into therapy, plus sessions on critical factors for progress, and how we can accelerate that progress with the right partnerships. Day 2 has a special focus on biotechnology, genetics and their impact, followed by a special focus on the latest prevention technology, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis.
A great speakers list, plus opportunity for your involvement in proceedings, will ensure a conference that is very relevant to professionals, support group leaders, individuals affected by rare diseases, and their families.
