CDHB Chairman Not Seeking Reappointment
CDHB Chairman Not Seeking Reappointment
In
commenting on a paper concerning the next CDHB elections at
today’s Board meeting, the Chair of the Canterbury District
Health Board Syd Bradley announced he will not be seeking
reappointment this year and will finish in his role on 9
December 2004.
Mr Bradley said he had advised the Minister of Health, Hon Annette King last September and had confirmed his decision earlier this year.
‘We have been through some challenging times over the last three years,’ Mr Bradley said. ‘However, the Board has made some significant achievements and I believe the relationship between clinicians and management has been strengthened over this period, and that we have come to grips with some of our more pressing issues like the budget.’
Mr Bradley said he was confident that the Board was in good hands with an outstanding Chief Executive.
During his tenure on the
Board, Mr Bradley has also worked with the Victorian
government as part of a health reforms panel and is
currently the Chair of DHBNZ (District Health Boards New
Zealand.) He will finish his term of office in this
position in
September.
