Breastfeeding at THE EDGE
Media Release for Breastfeeding at THE EDGE
Aotea Square will be flowing with breastfeeding mothers, babies and supporters at midday on August 4, as Aucklanders make a public stand for breastfeeding.
The fun event aims to get across an important message - that breastfeeding as a normal and natural part of human life, and that people who find breast feeding in public somehow distasteful need to get over it.
In a visual demonstration of breastfeeding, Fairy Clare dressed in gold will extol the magical and health-giving qualities of breast milk while feeding her very own fairy baby.
Actress Theresa Healey will be interviewed by Jude Dobson, and will give in plain language the many reasons why breastfeeding is a gold standard in infant feeding. The event will also launch the gold standard for breastfeeding - a symbol that nothing beats breast milk for babies' health and future well being.
A large golden breastfeeding trophy image on a banner will form a backdrop for large bubble making and a helium balloon release.
This event will be a visual spectacular, not to be missed - and you are invited. (invitation attached).
We will breastfeed in public!
