Manager Of Christchurch Hospital Resigns
The following statement is issued by the Canterbury District Health Board’s General Manager Hospital & Specialist Service, Jock Muir.
‘On Friday, 6 August, the General Manager of Christchurch Hospital Jim Magee advised me of his resignation with effect from 20 August 2004.
‘Mr Magee will be leaving the CDHB after eight years of service which began with his role as General Manager of Christchurch Women’s Hospital.
‘During his tenure as the manager of Christchurch Hospital, Mr Magee has worked hard to improve relationships within the hospital at a time when there has been great pressure on resources, meeting contractual obligations, and there has been constant change. I wish him all the best for the future.
‘It is important that there is minimum disruption to the ongoing management of services at the hospital and I will be working closely with hospital staff.
‘As an interim measure, the District Health Board’s Executive Director of Nursing, Mary Gordon will be acting as the hospital’s general manager.’
