Moody Blues Poster
To Raise Funds for Variety
In honour of their first ever tour of New Zealand, classic rock icons The Moody Blues have authorized a one-of-a-kind autographed tour poster to be auctioned with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the NZ chapter of Variety— The Children’s Charity.
The band will perform three shows in NZ—April 21 & 22 in Wellington and April 24 in Christchurch. The poster is not for sale anywhere and is the only officially autographed print by Justin Hayward, John Lodge and Graeme Edge, founding members of the British super group.
“When Capital C: Concerts approached us with the idea of raising money for Variety, we were honored to take part,” said Hayward. The auction will be through e-bay in the category of Entertainment Memorabilia (#3879085606) and will go online March 18 for 10 days. Capital C: is a Wellington-based concert and events management company and its offices in the USA are the official promoter of the Moody Blues NZ tour.
The winning bidder will also have a chance to meet the band backstage. In addition, The Moody Blues will present the cheque to Variety in the name of the winner before their first show in Wellington.
“We are very
grateful to The Moody Blues and Capital C: Concerts for
their generosity,” commented Elisa Willman. “The funds
raised through this auction will allow Variety to continue
to help New Zealand’s kids.”
