Telecom (Nz) Named Preferred Provider To The Cdhb

Canterbury District Health Board (CDHB) today announced that Telecom (NZ) has been named the preferred provider of telecommunications services to the DHB.

The decision follows a close run tender process which highlighted the highly competitive nature of the telecommunications market. CDHB Chief Information Officer, Chris Dever, commented that they were impressed with the quality of the proposals from all participants but, in the end, the proposal from Telecom (NZ) was preferred. While the decision was not an easy one to make, CDHB believe that the decision will offer significant price and service improvements to the organisation and are looking forward to the benefits the partnership with Telecom will bring.

“With more healthcare being delivered in the community, and the demand for much closer integration between primary and secondary care providers, telecommunications is a growing in its importance to the healthcare industry” says Dever.

The agreement covers voice and data for both fixed and mobile business as well as paging and other ancillary services.

In addition, CDHB was able to negotiate the extension of the agreement to cover the other South Island District Health Boards further strengthening the collaboration that exists between them.

Ends.
