Rob Fenwick New Chairman of St John
Mr Rob Fenwick has taken up the position of Chancellor and Chairman of the main Trust Board at St John [subs St John].
Mr Fenwick succeeds Neville Darrow who has completed a successful 7-year term leading St John as Chancellor and Chairman.
"It is a privilege to take over from Neville Darrow as the Chairman of one of New Zealand's best known charitable organisations and be able to serve the community in this way," Mr Fenwick said.
"St John has achieved considerable success under Neville Darrow's leadership during which time the organisation's activities have been
united around a central core, bringing a much needed sense of common purpose and consistency in service delivery," he said.
"I look forward to working with Chief Executive Jaimes [subs Jaimes] Wood and his management team to continue that progress."
The position of Chairman of St John is a voluntary role appointed on the recommendation of Her Excellency Dame Silvia Cartwright in her role as head of St John in New Zealand.
Mr Fenwick said the challenge for St John in the next few years is to consolidate the gains made towards operating as a united organisation delivering a wide variety of services and car ing for hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders each year.
"My ambition is that St John be the partner of first choice for funding agencies seeking to deliver caring services to communities throughout New Zealand. A key focus will be on measuring outputs to validate any funding agency's choice of St John as a partner."
