Anchor and Provincial Rugby Look to Future
Anchor and Provincial Rugby Unions Looking to the Future
Anchor and the G9 first division rugby unions are pleased to announce a sponsorship that sees healthier drink options available at 2007 Air New Zealand Cup matches.
The agreement will see milk drinks replacing carbonated drinks at games hosted at the G9 home stadiums this year.
The G9 is the group of provincial rugby unions outside the Rebel Sport Super 14 home unions including: Southland, Tasman, Manawatu, Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay, Taranaki, Counties Manukau, Northland and North Harbour.
Warren Goddard, the spokesman for the G9 acknowledges the increased awareness of the importance of nutrition in New Zealand and the role rugby can play in educating kids.
"We are really proud to be able to promote a healthy lifestyle change at our matches. It is important that we show kids how important it is to lead an active lifestyle and have a balanced diet."
Fonterra Brands (New Zealand) Ltd will supply a range of product including; Anchor Milk, Anchor Calci Yum, and Primo flavoured milk.
Andrew Smith, General Manager Fonterra Brands New Zealand says the agreement is great news for Anchor, kids and grass roots rugby.
"Kids are learning more and more about being healthy at school so we think this is a fantastic opportunity to send the same messages outside of school too.
We also hope the move to sell more nutritious drinks at most of the provincial games will sit well with lots of kiwi parents too."
