Child therapy expert opens lecture tour

People interested in therapy for special needs children have an opportunity to learn about the latest trends from an international expert on Friday night (Oct. 26).

Dr Clive Robbins, the co-developer of the world’s leading music therapy treatment for special needs children, is holding a one-off public lecture at the University of Auckland.

Using audio-visual case studies, Dr Robbins will share his insights into the development of the innovative music therapy approach and discuss current clinical practices at Nordoff-Robbins Centres world-wide.

The lecture programme is designed to interest parents, clinicians, educators, music educators and anyone interested in innovative approaches to treatment.

The Raukatauri Music Therapy Centre in Auckland provides music therapy for special needs children of school age and younger. It is New Zealand’s first music therapy centre based on the Nordoff-Robbins approach.

People interested in attending Dr Robbins’ public lecture can download a registration form from www.rmtc.org.nz or email info@rmtc.org.nz.
