Kahungunu hospitality for Child Cancer facilities
Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated are pleased to announce their support of Little Elms – a new child cancer support facility to be opened on 12th October 2008, following a 6 day charity big build.
Ngati Kahungunu Chairman, Ngahiwi Tomoana says, “This facility will offer real hope, support and assistance to our families and children in times of great stress and hardship. It will offer our families a chance to stay together while children are receiving treatment. We would like to commend the Trucking for Child Cancer charity for all their hard work in making this dream a reality”.
In addition to making a significant contribution towards the cost of building the facilities, Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated will be running a hangi fundraiser for the launch on 12th October. This hangi will include succulent meats, Hawkes bays luscious vegetables, our Auntys secret steamed pudding and prizewinning rewena bread.
Tomoana went on to say” We hope that peoples hunger for supporting Little Elms will be matched by their hunger and support for the hangi fundraiser on the day”.
Tickets for the Hangi are available by contacting Danielle Keil-Lambert on 06-876-2718 or Danielle@kahungunu.iwi.nz or by calling into the office at 509 Orchard Road, just down the road from the big build.
Over the week 6-12 October, we are also looking for volunteers to help us feed the 150 hungry and highly skilled tradesmen who are working on this successful project. If you are available and would like to help, please leave your name with reception staff at our Iwi office (06) 876-2718.
