Inaugural Les Mills Boobcamp™ Sees Celebs Get Physical
A group of New Zealand celebrities, along with more than a dozen corporate teams, is preparing to get physical in an attempt to raise money to help find a cure for breast cancer.
The celebrity team will be competing in the inaugural Les Mills BOOBCAMP™, which will see 15 teams of eight people competing to win and fundraise $1000 for every recruit, with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Research Trust.
The team includes former New Zealand Warriors player Monty Betham; television personalities Carol Hirschfeld and Julian Wilcox; Radio Sport hosts Miles Davis and Willie Lose; actresses Miriama Smith, Madeleine Sami and Jaquie Brown; columnist Mary Lambie; and dancer Nerida Cortese who will be joined by Les Mills CEO Reece Zondag – for extra motivation!
Tony Moffatt, CEO of the Breast Cancer Research Trust comments, “Breast cancer in New Zealand is at epidemic proportions – five years ago 1 in 10 women would be diagnosed – now this is 1 in 8. The lives of over 660 New Zealand women of all ages are being lost every year and over 2,600 women are diagnosed each year. We are committed to achieving a new, brighter future, free of the fear of breast cancer – with a goal to find a cure by 2018. This fundraising initiative is terrific and we wish all recruits the best of luck over their four week programme – both for fitness and fundraising!”
Les Mills CEO, Reece Zondag, says as well as raising money for a worthy cause, Les Mills BOOBCAMP™ kicks off the Les Mills BOOTCAMP® season, which runs intensive team programmes from October through to April.
“We know people get fitter and achieve better results working in teams with a coach or trainer, and Les Mills offers many ways to train this way – a Les Mills BOOTCAMP® approach achieves dramatic results in a short time and helps people get fit heading into summer.”

I n addition to the team of celebrities, 14 corporate teams from a wide range of industries will be competing in Les Mills BOOBCAMP™ 2009.
